Our History
Naperville Meditation is part of a global meditation community that began in Korea
in 1996. The practice has since spread to over 350 centers worldwide, practiced by
people of all ages and backgrounds. Naperville Meditation opened in 2012,
offering personally guided meditation to anyone ready to do the real work of clearing
— not just managing — what is held inside.

I am the lead guide at Naperville Meditation. I have practiced and taught this method for over twenty six years, trained under its founder in Korea.
I had the apartment. The career. The life that was supposed to feel like enough. One Friday night, standing at my window looking out at the city, I had a thought I had never allowed myself before: I wish I wouldn't wake up tomorrow morning. A few days later I found a small advertisement in a magazine. Find your true self in one week. I bought a plane ticket to Los Angeles. That was twenty six years ago.
What followed was a journey I did not expect. New York, where I helped open one of the first centers of this kind in America. New Jersey, where I began guiding students for the first time. Paris, where I taught Korean students who had come to study in Europe and found themselves — in one of the most beautiful cities in the world —
profoundly alone. Korea, where I returned for a period before making a final move to the Chicago area.
I opened Naperville Meditation in 2012. I am still here because the work is not finished. Every person who walks through this door is carrying something. I know exactly what that feels like. And I know the way through.
Jenna Koo
I began this practice at 21 years old, in Los Angeles. That was twenty one years ago. Like many students, I carried a constant anxiety about the future. As an international student living far from my family, the loneliness was real and the language barrier often felt like too much to bear. There were times when I felt I was simply enduring life, rather than truly living it. Then, I found this practice.
Gradually, something shifted. The stress and worry that had once crowded my mind began to quietly fall away. From the first time, I arrived at a simple but profound realization: it is actually possible to live a happy life. After graduating, I entered the working world like everyone else, but something inside me had changed. I kept returning to the same thought: if others could experience what I had experienced, if they could genuinely become happy, then my life would have real meaning. That thought never left me. It is why I am here today.
To anyone who read this: a life of happiness and peace is not out of reach. It is possible for you, too. But it begins with a choice. You can go on living as you always have. Or you can take this path and perhaps discover a happiness you never thought possible.

Our Mission
At Naperville Meditation, we believe that every person alive is carrying weight they did not
choose to carry – inherited fears, learned patterns, conclusions drawn in childhood
that are still running in adult body.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to one thing: help people
find the root of that weight and clear it completely. Not manage it. Not reframe it.
Clear it.
This is what we call recovering your original nature – the person you were before the accumulation began.
Our Method
At Naperville Meditation Center,
Most approaches to stress and anxiety teach you to manage what you are feeling.
We take a different approach. We help you find where the feeling is coming from
— the specific root of it, stored in the body — and release it completely.
This is not temporary relief. When a root is cleared, it does not come back.
For over twelve years at this center, we have guided people through this process
one by one, session by session. The results are specific and verifiable — not in theory,
but the quality of ordinary daily life. Stress isn’t just something you manage.
It is something you can release.
